And this is why you should have to fill out an application before being allowed on the internet.

Your caps lock is stuck.  Target had keyboards on sale for $4.99, you should look into that.

I'd bet $4.99 that the keyboard is the property of the library and that it works just fine...

This sounds like sour grapes to me.

Did they fire you Roland?

I have been to the Day Center and was very impressed. They help on average over 450 people a day, seven days a week. They provide shelter, counseling, showers, medical care, storage for belongings, bus tokens, etc.

I will choose to believe what I saw and not what triplesevenmob writes.

You were able to read what he wrote?  I tried, but I don't speak Troll.

Recylemichael is right.  The day center is a good place and provides a valuable service.

There is drug dealing and prostitution in the area but the daycenter employees are not involved.

The two threads triplesevenmob wrote should be deleted.

His favorite quote:

"homeless people is not all bad you need not descriminate"

I'm guessing he's a disgruntled client.

Can you say that quote in your best Johnny Cochran voice and not laugh?

Swake, I tried, and no I couldn't.  I even said that in my best Johnny Cochran/Jackie Chiles voice, and I'm still laughing.

So you need to go back to that staff, punch him in the nose, and grab you bag of crack back....

Don't you think his allegations are worth some scrutiny? Friendly Bear makes wild donkey assertions too but they are taken seriously. I guess typing, sentence structure and ownership of a quality laptop are more important.

I know of one recovering abuser who refuses to ever step foot there again. He expressed the same sentiments, that it is an easy place to score drugs, get laid and get back in the life. He also felt that the operators there were complicit. I'm sure the management there is succeeding in some areas but likely failing in others. Why should they get a pass though? Maybe its that oligarchy thing?

I'm sure it's worth scruitiny.  However, it's not a locked-down facility, I don't know how you can keep all the unwanted elements out other than outright barring homeless people from going in there, and that would pretty much defeat the purpose.  Street life is hard, if people don't like it, there are plenty of outstretched hands to help them up.

There are also plenty of outstretched hands with crack pipes in them and if they belong to staff or are being tolerated by local police then its worth looking in to.

There is too much riffraff hanging out around there.  Perhaps if they got rid of all of the bums and loiterers they could attract a higher-class clientele.

Hey!  They could turn it into a theme restaurant!!!

HOME OF THE THROWN CRACK PIPE

No shoes, no shirt, no problem!

"Come for the dry underwear, stay for the meth!" [:D]

I know, I know, some of these folks are just really down on their luck, and others are mentally ill.  I have compassion, I just don't like to show it.

Do homeless people taste good, or are they as stringy as they look?

Thanks Spoon, I've been needing a raucous laugh today.
