Title: Tulsa Police Crime Map
Post by: AngieB on November 10, 2007, 08:01:53 AM
I need to gather data on crime in the area near where I work. I don't know if it's a Mac thing or if the website is screwy, but everytime I try to generate a map, I get this error:

LINK (//%22http://www.tulsapolice.org/mapcentral.html%22)

This occurs using both Firefox and Safari. If someone can try it out on a PC, I would appreciate it. If it works for you, I'll quit trying here and just wait to get to it from my office PC.

Thanks!

Nope. Didn't work. Guess it's a Mac thing.

Thanks for the suggestion.

macs are generally not supported for ArcIMS.  safari has worked in the past though.  if you are using Firefux then that might be your issue.

My older daughter will be crossing over to the dark side next fall when she starts at OU  College of Architecture (interior design).  Apparently they all have to use Macs.

I have an apple sticker on the back of my truck...  leopard is 100X better than vista which means it's 20X better than Windows XP.

(doesn't actually own a mac)

Took me an entire season of submiting results to the area Newspapers in MSWORD to finally discover none of them could open the files.

One day I was at he Catoosa Newspaper and the editor told me most publishing firms run on Macs.  A Lightbulb flashed! I was taken back to the British/Japanese Motorcycle days, Japanese: Shift on the left, brake on the right, British: Shift on the right brake on the left type deal.

No standard format, just run what ya brung, I could relate to that.

He then told me to submit everything is a TEXT Format, they could read that.  LOL

Things began being published the very next issue.  :)
