Title: High Tea in T-Town
Post by: Hometown on November 07, 2007, 06:46:19 PM
Is there anywhere in Tulsa that serves High Tea?  You know, English style with little cakes, I guess.  I've never enjoyed English style tea service but I would like to.

I've seen hotels in other towns host an afternoon tea.  I used to walk past the Russian Tea Room but never made it inside.  All of a sudden I'm craving an afternoon tea break here in T-Town.  Any suggestions?

Hometown, you are such a diva! [;)]

Wish I knew of a place, can't think of it off the top of my head.

Finally, someone other than myself being branded a Diva-although in my case it's oft meant as a less-than-flattering designation!

Thanks Mr. Jaynes.  You are very kind.

Well I gave up and searched google and I'm afraid that Tulsa may not enjoy High Tea service in any public venue though I am certain their are a number of very fine ladies hereabouts that can pull out the silver service and scare up some lovely cakes at a moment's notice.

Franks?  I thought they'd been closed for about three years.

Come to think of it, I haven't enjoyed High-Tea at Franks in several years.

Maybe the Tulsa Croquet Club and the Tulsa Fencing Club could get together for high tea...

There was the place on 41st called "Katherine's Tea Room" and the tea room... whatever it was called... that was replaced by the Wild Fork.

So it is not like "High Tea" has never been seen in Tulsa...

The "blue haired" set just shifted gears..[;)]

Tulsa Fencing Club?  Is that what the pawnbrokers association refers to itself as these days?

There is nothing more pleasing to the senses than visiting a Tea room in England!  We had High Tea at Harrods, and then decided we'd stick to Mark's and Spencers tea because it was more in line with our budget. Besides, the exchange is a killer so we were even less inclined to visit Harrods a second time.

Try this place.  I don't know their business hours.  The other two are outside of Tulsa, but if you felt the urgency for something different, you could always drive out for a nice afternoon.

Thanks Honeysuckle!  I'm printing your post for safekeeping.  I'll know downtown Tulsa has arrived (again) when I see the Mayo hosting a regular afternoon tea.

Did you ever try any of those places?
