Has anyone used either of these places for tile install? These are the three I am getting quotes from.
Not going to hire just any old tile guy off the street. Had a contractor screw up a bathroom install a couple years ago and I'm now afraid to try anyone who is not coming through a company. At least if I have a complaint, I have a company to take it to, know what I mean?
You guys never remodelled? [V]
We are doing the tiles ourself, or more precisely, the misses is doing the work herself.
My wife borrowed a tile saw and started working on the kitchen floor and new backsplash a couple of weeks ago...
I hate that channel 31. HGTV has cost me so much money.
But it's so much fun, as long as it involves power tools.
My kitchen, pimped. Fo-shizzle.
I can't lay tiles on the floor because I injured my knees (rock climbing)[|)][V]
Wish I could find out about these tile places. I heard that Millcreek has more unhappy customers than happy ones, so that's one off my list for now.
But R & R? I guess they've been around for awhile but don't seem to get much work. Is that a red flag? Millcreek is busy but word on the street is negative. Decisions, decisions.
You didn't ask about this place, but 21 years ago when I bought my home I had C&C Tile/1319 S. Harvard in Tulsa, redo my hall bath. They removed all old floor asphalt tile, baseboards, and tub surround ceramic tile and replaced it all with new ceramic. They replaced all underlayment as necessary.
It was not a big project, but they did a very good job, made minimal mess, cleaned up all their work properly, and the whole thing was done in 48 hours. I have lived with that tile job for 20+ years now and it still looks great.
My master bath is still 1954-original, and is in need of new tile. I still love the look, but the materials are showing their age and wearing out (loose tiles on the wall, etc.) I will be calling on C&C again for this job. I need to retile the floor, baseboards and tub surround like I did in the other bath. I WILL be keeping my 1954 bath vanity with its cool grey/pink/white "boomerang" Formica top. I am really into the retro thing, and it suits my house and tastes perfectly.
That is about the best testimonial I can give for C&C Tile & Carpet, 13th & Harvard, Tulsa. They are still in business in the same location when I used them 20 years ago, and their phone book advert says they have been serving Tulsa since 1957. As with all home maintenance contractors, it doesn't hurt to check with the BBB for unresolved complaints.

I totally forgot to about this company! Mind you, the workers they had then wouldn't be the same now,lol What I am finding is that some of these companies hire less qualified workers and pay them about $8/hr, yet they charge us $7 sq ft on a tile install. Will give them a try though, thanks.

I reccomend R&R They tiled our whole house for half the price everyone else quoted. Got the work done right. Took less time than they said, and looks wonderfull. Roger is awsome!
If you love the look of those old Tulsa mansions with red tile floors go to Pascal. They have it. I went through a couple of losers before I found an excellent tile man. He and his wife redid some bad work from earlier losers. I'll find his number this weekend. There are so many really crummy service people out there. I would say about 75%. Don't feel like you've been singled out.
Talk about losers. The contractor who messed up my wall (supposedly putting up cement board) really did a hack job. Every tile person or company that comes through have discussed the same problems with me. I paid that loser (not even an undocumented person, but a real Oakie at that) too much for the mess he made!
Anyway, I will check out Roger at R & R and any others you all mention and then make my decision.
Had C&C come by. Nice person.
Spoonbill, when did you have the house tiled?

Two years ago. Got tired of cleaning carpet so I had the living room, hallways and kitchen all done. Only left carpet in the bedrooms. It was about 1,400 sq.ft. of 18" tile.
