Title: The Flats: 21st and Boulder
Post by: carltonplace on October 22, 2007, 11:16:18 AM
I noticed that they are moving dirt around at 21st and Boulder accross from Veteran's/Boulder Park. Is this for the flats or for the drive through bank?

I believe the flats are to be built on what used to be the parking lot for Akdar Shrine Temple.

It's the bank.  I've seen the drawings.  Keep expectations low. [^]

What bank is going in there?  I live up the street and I didn't even know about this.

Thank God it's a bank!  We have such a shortage of them around town.

Their other location is way the other side of Lewis on 21st street.

That location is at least a mile and a half away. I am sure the travel time inconvenienced many of their customers.

My thoughts exactly...God I hate to be inconvenienced by driving an extra mile and a half...

But look at it this way, it mightjust lower the carbon footprint a little. [;)]

I'm sure after the new one is built, the current one will just play second fiddle-ity.

So the flats, that's like condos for practical women?  Will they build the pumps for more uppity women across the street?

Maybe they need to sell out the Tudors first.  (And that doesn't seem to be going all that well)

It looks like there are only 4 lots left in the Tudors

I think Tudors is sold out....maybe one lot left.  That website is out of date - there is already a house on lot 8.  I definitely wouldn't say it's going bad at all.

BTW, I think the concept on the Flats might be evolving right now....  From what I hear, there hasn't been enough interest (read: buyers) for the "residential above retail" concept at that location, so he's looking at something that might be purely residential in nature, more like townhouses, but nothing like the Tudors - it will remain contemporary in style.

Not quite.  There are four lots still listed for sale on Peter Walters' website, plus one of the homes is already up for resale (also on Walters' website.

I stand corrected.  I do know at least one of those lots is under contract, though.  I also know the house up for resale has nothing to do with the health of the developement.
