Having tipped ol' Matt for three days straight, Drudge has picked up the story, linking to this APMYWAY story. (//%22http://apnews.myway.com/article/20071006/D8S3MC9G0.html%22)
The emphasis on the spending is unfortunate, because IMO the RNC connection is much more important. This puts the 'cult' into the 'culture of corruption.'
I talked with one student who reported that, after a hastily-arranged 'Chapel' service Tuesday web access was cut off for the campus.
No web access? Sounds like Burma.

No not Burma.... Unfortunately this is the 'modus operandi' of the Bush Whitehouse...
Complete and total denial... 'Right is Might'
"the defense for our transgressions is... our mission is Divine..."
"We will use whatever means necessary...."
I can not believe that Oral Roberts knew of these goings on...
Richard... on the other hand... Talk with people on the "Club Circuit" back during the 70's...
His hypocrisy goes far deeper than political shenanigans....

The comments that follow the TW article on the web are quite interesting. Seems to be a hot topic ...
Nick
There seems to be a lot of pent-up anger out there about the issue.
Richard and/or Brooker are going to be doing the perp-walk hopefully. This suit is going nowhere, ORU can fire anyone it wants for just about any reason. All it is doing is bringing out dirt about the Roberts and making Brooker an accessory in the RNC's crap.
It is not unusual for the Feds to take this long in bringing a case, hopefully the RNC is being looked at too and that is what is taking so long.
It is all over the national blogs. Here is just an example.

And ewwwww. Text messages from Lindsey Roberts to underage male students? Gross me out.
Tim,
Did miss something? I didn't see any linkage to the RNC, but rather only to Randi Miller's campaign. Big difference between the RNC and local Republican goings on or even an individual campaign. Please enlighten me.
I'm sorry but I fail to see what is so shocking or what the scandal is here.
These allegations about a televangelist, and to accuse a televangelist of influence peddling and living lavishly, well, I kinda thought those items were in the job description. This is a group with a long track record of far, far worse behavior than this.
Richard's own father claimed to see a 700 foot tall Jesus straddling 81st St (man, how did everyone else in Tulsa miss that?) and then years later had a personal conversation with God who told him if he couldn't raise a certain number of millions of dollars he was going to "call him home". Richard and wife are going to have to do a hell of a lot better than spending too much at Chico's to even get to Daddy's level of sliminess, much less to equal the Jimmy Swaggarts of the world.
Give it a rest, really, who cares? Next you are going to tell that Benny Hinn doesn't really cure sick people.
I agree yummy red fruit flavored candy twist.
ORU has quality programs. It would have been great for Tulsa if the Med School took off or the University continued its rapid growth. As it stands, it is NO DOUBT a net positive for the Tulsa area.

This was my favorite part...
A friend of mine attended a school that is, or was, in the same athletic conference as ORU. They delighted in dreaming up banners with which to torment visiting ORU teams, cheerleaders and fans. The best one: "We welcome Oral Roberts and his brothers Nasal and Anal."
