Title: Street money confusion?
Post by: Sangria on October 03, 2007, 05:08:23 PM
County Commissioner Randi Miller says that the City of Tulsa has a lot of money to fix the streets - there just is not anyone available to do the work.

City of Tulsa just spent $20 million on the streets leading to the new arena.

****************************************

City of Tulsa says they do not have the money, plenty of contracts but no money to pay for them.

****************************************

Mayor Kathy Taylor says there is a pannel looking into new money to fund street repairs. They will possibly be a vote in the spring for a tax to fix the streets.

****************************************

Looks to me like that 1/2 cent just got a lot bigger.

At what point is tax concidered too much and it's time the government on all levels learned to better handle the money?

I dont think a sales tax is the plan.  More like a bond issue.

It's just the latest addition to Randi Miller's litany of lies.

Either she is lieing or she is jealous.

I'm going to guess that Miller is jealous of the city's budget, and is dedicated to growing the county's as large.

Of course, I'm not quite even sure about what exactly the county DOES besides maintain gravel roads in the country, and police the fairgrounds.

Add to that.. this....
The lady named Letcher sp? that works with the "Vote Yes" campaign spoke at another meeting and said "the 4 to Fix vote had given the City of Tulsa the money to do all the street repairs."  "The Panel assembled by the Mayor had just to make decisions on when and where to start"

This was tied together with bailing wire from the beginning and it is starting to unravel before they have the cash.$

It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.
