This is an annual fundraiser put on by the Tulsa Packer Backers fan club and all proceeds go to Toys for Tots.
The party starts at 4:30 this Sunday with many arriving late just in time to go into Remington's bar to watch the game. Yesterday the bar was filled to capacity of 160 people (at noon on a Sunday) and the hotel set up tables and televisions out in the lobby for families with children under 21.
The club, http://www.tulsa-packerbackers.org/ meets in the Tulsa Southern Hills Marriot Hotel parking lot two hours before every game for a tailgate party. The actual location is in the west parking lot near 71st and Trenton.
This week, the club will be cooking bratwurst and icing down Old Style beers and will accept donations for its giving arm "Cheeseheads for Charity". The group has donated over $40,000 the past few years to a variety of causes with the bulk of the money going to Toys for Tots.
The Packer Fan club has over 300 members so far this year and expects to have over 600 by the end of the season. Memberships are only one dollar and must be completed each year.
Every one is welcome, even Bears fans.
