New retail center under construction

A vacant QuikTrip near 81st Street and Riverside Drive was recently razed for the construction of River's Edge Centre, a future combination of storage units and retail businesses.
The units will be climate controlled, said Edward Leinbach, owner of the Leinbach Company, 2240 E. 49th St., which is financing the retail development.
The development will include two separate projects. One is 35,000 square feet of self-storage units, and another is a 20,000-square-foot two-story facility to include storage, retail and restaurants.
"We already owned the land and the vacant QuikTrip store, so we thought the two (River's Edge Centre) would fit together," said Garrett Mahaney, Leinbach acquisition manager.
The $3 to $4 million development is expected to open in 90 days, Mahaney said.
"It's a good mix for retailers that are supplemental to Wal-Mart," he said.
Tracy Naud, an employee with Leinbach, said the retail complex will be beneficial to the community.
"The location is excellent. There are no climate-controlled self-storage units on the river," she said.

That's what we need! More climate-controlled self-storage units on the river! [}:)]
Wow, so far we have lured a Kum-n-go and now some climate controlled storage units. World class river development. [:P] Are we really sure we want ANY private development along the rive in Tulsa? At this rate, perhaps we should consider leaving that up to the suburbs.

Indian Casino - Check
Restaurant row facing wrong way - Check
Self Storage - Check
Yup, private developers will definitely bring what we need to develop Tulsa's river district...
Now THAT'S river development! Can we build a WalMart on the river too???

But you must have the VISION to imagine the beatiful view of the proposed Low Water Dam as you ingress or egress your refrigerated storage unit.
And for only another measley minimum $282 million.......And it is a TEMPORARY Tax.
It's only a few more pennies...do it....

Wally-World is already across the street:
81st and Lewis.
The storage units popping up are just a byproduct of all of the apartments in the area.

funny, when I lived in an apartment I didn't bring more **** than I could store in the apartment.
If people would sell/throw away **** they never use, they would be a lot richer and we would be without a few storage units.

Very true, unfortunately I was the moron you mention and had to go "so far away" for storage at 89th and Lewis.
Maybe a floating Wal Mart IN the river.

Maybe a floating casino and Wal-mart combination.
They share the same clientele, anyway.
