I think Paul Smith is the best QB in the state.
TU looked great and yes they have a good QB. Hard to say he is the best in the state yet. OU has two good ones as well.
Since Smith is an Owasso grad....... I find his football skills to be far too suburban, cookie-cutter and sprawling for my tastes...
/sarcasm.

***If TU can put together an entire game that matches the 3rd quarter of their opener, I like their chances against BYU and an upset of OU.
I agree. They were shaky in the first half, and dominant in the third QT. The 4th QT was coast mode. I would have liked to have a soft opponent between now and BYU to practice the changes/tweaks and fixes surely being put in place... but I guess we just wait and see.
Glad Smith got his dumbass plays out of the way early. When in doubt, FALL ON THE FUMBLE!!!
TU needs a crowd next week against BYU. Lot's of noise can really help TU win.
Smith throws for 5 TDs as Tulsa beats BYU 55-47

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Senior quarterback Paul Smith passed for a career-high 454 yards and five touchdowns to lead Tulsa to a wild 55-47 victory over Brigham Young on Saturday night.
In a game in which the teams with proud passing traditions combined for 1,289 yards, including 1,027 in the air, it was four second-half takeaways - two interceptions and two fumble recoveries - by the Tulsa defense and two penalties on a late BYU possession that spelled the difference.

Is he smelling that guys butt?? [:P]
Its OK, Mormon asses dont stink. [:P] (bad choice with the sticking out of tong guy).
Great game, both from a TU perspective and from any spectators perspective. Really fun, fast, and hard hitting (did anyone else see #11 running back for BYU get layed out, damn!). The officiating was a little off at times, but it seemed to go both ways (in hindsight). Smith and our rookie receivers SMOKED the BYU DBs... they rarely had a chance to turn around.
The BYU crowd was great, I even think it should some of the lethargic Tulsa fans how to be a fan. The BYU players also impressed with their annoying tenacity (pancake blocks that resulted in TU players getting sat on, continued blocking until the whistle, etc.) and their sportsmanship. I saw more TU & BYU players picking each other up or telling each other nice hit (whatever they say) with a pat after each play. Really good game.
I am cautiously optimistic that we have a good showing against OU. I'm not sure I dare hope for a win yet... OU looks mighty big, fast, and well coached.

I'm looking at it the same way, it'll be a great game and OU will win but TU will have a lot to be proud of afterwards.
I'm flying a couple friends in for the game tonight... be there in TU BLUE.
