Title: Differing POVs not acceptable in TYPros?
Post by: iplaw on August 28, 2007, 02:34:59 PM
Strong-arming over the river tax (//%22http://www.ktul.com/news/stories/0807/450958.html%22)

First off, with a group as large as TYPros should they be officially adopting positions that say TYPros believes "X" on any issue? I know groups frequently do it, but why not let the members just speak for themselves? They have approved the tax as their first "political endorsement."  Why would an organization with professionals from such varying backgrounds attempt to speak for ALL of it's members by doing something like this?  One more reason not to join one of these wackjob orgs.

Secondly, it is being reported that people working for companies associated with TYPros are strongly encouraging people to support the tax and members who don't agree are afraid to voice opinions because they fear losing their jobs.

I know that some of this may be hype, but something about this seems fundamentally unfair and a bit presumptuous for an organization like TYPros.

I think the idea of a mini-me organization for yuppies is pretty ridiculous to begin with.  Grow up and join Rotary or what not.

When the Leadership in control of an organization "endorses" a cause or a candidate they run the risk of severely alienating a portion of a organization.

Case in Point:

When GTAR and the Home Builder's association LEADERSHIP endorsed and supported the Recall of former city councilors Jim Mautino and Chris Medlock, they acted as if they were speaking for the entire body of their organizations.

Yet, I kind of doubt that GTAR Member and Realtor Mrs. Medlock agreed with that endorsement..........

Are you trying to convince me that I should not like them, or that I should join?  Dear god.  Young drunk professional females on a meat market.    That image will certainly get me through the day.

How wonderful.  I couldn't care what we endorsed , I'm so there.

3500 members?  In that snobotorium circle-(ahem) of an organization?  My donkey.

Jaycees were a lot more fun to get drunk with and they actually did substantive things for the city.

I'm sure this accounts for everyone who's ever signed up online.  You can become a member just by doing so.

And depending on your place of employment you could be 'nudged' quite a bit.

Politics aside, we should only be asking the question, "Is it really good for Tulsa, Tulsa County or it's citizens?"

The way this deal is put together, I think the answer is "NO".

Which has nothing at all to do with SOME of the underlying potential benefits. The negatives way outweigh those.

We have streets that need to be fixed bridges that are falling apart and they want to pass a tax so some one can get richer building buildings in the middle of the freaking river. MAULK [:(!]  The really bad thing about it is that most of the people that go out to vote for it will probably be for it.

Do you know who the real Nazi is?

You, the name calling and the way you talk about anyone that dares to disagree with you. It's disgusting. I wish you would leave the Democratic party, and soon.

THERE ARE NO BUILDINGS PROPOSAED FOR THE MIDDLE OF THE RIVER in the upcoming vote.  That was proposed in the Channels plan, THIS IS NOT THAT PROJECT.

I have a question for you doubleA.

You have a democrat City Councilor in Maria Barnes.

You have a democrat state Representative in Lucky Lamons.

You have a democrat state Senator in Tom Adelson.

You have a democrat Mayor in Kathy Taylor.

You have a democrat Governor in Brad Henry.

You have a republican Congressmen in John Sullivan.

You have two republican Senators in Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn.

You have a republican President in George W. Bush.

Five democrats and four republicans represent you.

My question is, is there any of those nine elected representatives that you would help campaign for if the election were held this Tuesday?

None of the Republicans, that includes Kathy Taylor. All of the Democrats, except Maria. She's headed down the same primrose path as Susan Savage, Randi Miller, and Kathy Taylor.

That is a nice compliment for Maria Barnes.

I think she is great too.

Interesting.  Only people you don't support are women, and to put them down, you compare them to other women.  And you claim to not have a problem with female leaders?

I judge them by their conduct, not their gender. There are plenty of men I would add to that list Westcott, Troyer, Lafortune, Baker, just to name a few. All the same co-opted sell-outs. Are you going to Maria's by invitation only RSVP Community Meeting with special guests Propaganda Minister Ken Levitt and Baroness Randi Miller?

And how should you be judged by your conduct?

So doubleA...are there any women candidates that you could support right now?

How about Hillary Clinton? What do you think of her?

...and one more question...this women in power thing is interesting...are you a married man?
