We were in Costa Maya, Mx. three weeks ago.  That's still a pretty hard-scrabble area.  Sad to think of the villagers at Majahual losing everything.  My daughter's had a lot of fun bargaining with the locals.  My understanding is they lost half of the new concrete cruise ship pier that was only a few years old.  The tourism $$ which had been flowing in were starting to improve the area.  That's on hold now for six to eight months.

Mexico will rebuild faster than New Orleans.... inspite of the fact no one is throwing billions of dollars their way.

The people in Mexico won't sit on pallets crying for help - they will be too busy cleaning up and starting over.

I am sure money will be sent to Mexico to help them recover. We always do. The problem is getting the leaders to use it for what it was intended.
