I'm getting a lot of mixed answers on this, so ...
Where would I dispose of used motor oil? (It's in a closed container ... relax.) Is there a place to do this in town?
O'Reilly....Or possibly whomever does other service on your car....
I'm sure just about any oil-changing-place will take it, or....
I just save mine and take it to one of Michael's house-hold-pollutant days at the fairgrounds. One is held in the spring and another in the fall.
O'reilly's will take it (at least the one in Sand Springs). That's where I take mine. I'm sure other parts stores will also.
We take used motor oil at each of our recycling centers seven days a week now.
Here is a list of locations...

I believe the depot near Warehouse Market at 51st and Union is the closest one to your home.
There are some restrictions. I cannot accept motor oil from commercial establishments and we have a five gallon per day limit.
It shouldnt be a problem. There is quite a market for used motor oil. Tank truck companies pick it up from repair shops for free.
It is in demand for use in asphalt mfg.
Your neighbors pesky bamboo patch.
Or to decorate a the nearby fountain (pretty colors).
I went to the Warehouse Market recycling spot. Thanks, RM.
