PLANO, Texas, July 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EDS, a leading global technology services provider, today announced plans to expand its Service Management Center in Tulsa, Okla. The expansion will more than double the square footage of the data center to 440,000 square feet, enabling additional operations and high-density server capacity for EDS and its clients around the world.
Much of this can be attributed to Dollar-Thrifty's contract with EDS, outsourcing most of their IT jobs to boot. Net gain = about zero.
In related news, First Data is shuttering their facility and losing the last 400 jobs.
Hopefully some of the FD employees will be absorbed with this expansion, but I believe it's a different skill set phone operators might not have.
So is this that bunker building out at 76th street north and Lakewood? I remember us talking about that building in another thread long long ago and no one know who occupied that bunker.
i thought that Capital One was supposedly going to absorb the First Data people or some ****. I remember when they were polishing that turd.
Correction- total of four hundred jobs lost. They were letting go 300 and now will be letting go the last 100.
