Title: Mayor's 'Working in Neighborhoods'

So the Mayor is going to bring back an old Mayor's Office function at double the price?  Mayor Savage had the 'Mayor's Office for Neighborhoods', which was handled by now-State Representative Jeanie McDaniel.  Under the new plan, the number of people will be increased by 300% and nearly double the salary.

Is she saying the current Mayor's Action Line doesn't work?

Good thing public safety is 100% under control, as the Mayor certainly doesn't want to add any folks there.

The actual tax dollars spent on the four liasions is about the same as the previous two administrations. Mayor Taylor was able to redesign the job duties and come up with a strategy that puts more people on the street for about the same amount of city money. She also was creative and persistent enough to find private dollars through a grant to do the job right.

I think this is a good idea and hopefully will be more responsive to neighborhood needs. The neighborhoods of Tulsa are one of the strengths of Tulsa in so many ways and I am glad she is responding to their needs.

I am an officer in my neighborhood association and I look forward to meeting some of these new hires at one of our upcoming meetings. I am pleased the Mayor is working hard to improve services to us.

recyclemichael.  Don't I recall that someone in your family works for the Mayor and maybe full and complete disclosure should be made on such endorsements or criticisms.  Sorry if I am wrong, but thought I remember reading that somewhere in these writings.

RM knows a former employee of the mayor in a biblical sense. That is far from a direct connection. If we all had to put disclosure statements for every possible connection between our opinions with our family and their employers, this board would quadruple in size.

Yes, my wife used to work at city hall. She doesn't anymore.

I used to work for the city as well. My mother and father both worked for the city each for over 20 years. My first paid government job was 31 years ago working as a summer park counselor at Springdale Park (site of tonight's neighborfest).

My spouse does not approve or have much knowledge of anything I write on this forum. She has much more important things to do than that.

Where does your spouse work, since we are talking about them?

You said in another thread you currently work for 12 government agencies. Do you currently work for the city?
