Title: Object over mid-town sky this evening
Post by: Markk on June 16, 2007, 09:40:33 PM
Did anyone else see the small black object travelling south to north high in the sky this evening?  The fact it was black was what caught my eye.  I managed to get a look with binoculars and it appeared to be roughly cylindrical, but with a flat disc around the middle, and the top was bigger than the bottom.  I watched it for probably 5-10 minutes between 8:15 and 8:30.

Some kind of weather balloon I suppose.

It was a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere.

Was it faster than a speeding bullet, or perhaps more powerful than a speeding locomotive? Could it leap over tall buildings in a single bound?

Someone makes an observation, and asks for input.  Instead, they recieve negative comments bent on nothing more then trying to demean them.  It would be nice if more people asked questions like this, instead of jumping to conclusions.  Unfortunatly, with the reaction recieved, it will discourage them from asking in the future, and possibly hinder the proccess of finding the truth.

I don't know about everyone else, but on my part, I was making a joke, trying to inject some comedy into this.

No one demeaned the author of the thread...go back and read the comments.  They made snarky comments about what could have happened.

I believe Markk saw something in the sky. By his description...who knows what it could have been.

Roughly cylindrical, flat around the middle and bigger on top than on bottom...

Sounds like my waitress from Hooters...

I just was curious if anyone else saw what I saw, perhaps from a different angle, or with a better pair of binoculars than mine.

Based on the comments people have posted, apparently no one else saw what I saw.  I'll send a query to the weather service to see if they know whether it could have been a weather balloon of some type.

End of discussion.

I know I have seen the Stealth bomber around here at times.  Maybe from the right angle it could look like this object.

You won't last long on these boards if you interpret comments like you did.  These forums ARE for comments like "Did you see what was in the sky yesterday?" No one here jumped on the poster for posting it.  We all make zany comments for just about anything. Lighten up.

Hey, if it happened in Tulsa or affects Tulsa, it belongs here!

Could it have been the space station? It was supposed to be going over us in the daylight recently...
