Title: City of Tulsa Water Dept has ONE emergency worker?
Post by: AngieB on June 11, 2007, 06:51:23 PM
I gotta vent...

Came home from work this evening and found we have no water. Yes, the bill has been paid.

So I called and reported the outage, they took my name and number and I thought that was it.

An hour or so later, I call again, get a different person, find that my report was not even entered into the system and there are 40 work orders pending and there's only ONE emergency after-hours worker.

ONE guy for the entire city? Man, I am so hacked off right now.

They probably have more on call, just one working the night shift.

Are you the only one out?

Have you checked to see if they accidentally turned you off or turned you off for maintenance and forgot to turn it on?

My husband just got home and found that it was turned off at the meter. I can't imagine why they did that, but I'm guessing it was when reading the meter maybe? The cover on the dial was flipped open and water off.

I spent over 2 hours walking around the house, fearful that a pipe had burst or something... I didn't know how or if I even could turn it back on myself, so yeah, I was super irritated when he discovered it just off for no apparent reason.

Anyway, it still sounds ridiculous for the entire city to have one guy on call after hours.
