Post by: pierson1953 on May 16, 2007, 09:53:25 AM
Is there a good dentist for low income families without dental insurance?

I'm afraid I don't know of any.  Perhaps the best solution would be to call a dentist and inquire, when they tell you they are not such a place ask who might be.

I hate going to the dentist when insurance covers most of it and I know he is competent. I have great sympathy for your situation.

Try Roger Andrews (I think its called Affordable Dentistry) on Admiral between Sheridan and Yale. I met him years ago and he seemed to be a nice person.
I think someone mentioned him to me several years ago, that he was pretty flexible on payment.  Dont quote me on that.

You might try Family & Children's Services for a referral.

Neighbor for Neighbor, the United Way service has a free or sliding scale clinic on specific days of the week.

Also contact the Morton Health Clinic.  They received major funding from Vision 2025 recently and have a state of the art facility.
