According to Foxnews, 25% of their viewers cast text message votes for maverick Texas Congressman Ron Paul, while Mitt Romney won the contest with 26%.  Immediately following the initial results the Foxnews commentator was all over Paul, suggesting that his campaign orchestrated the results.

IMO Paul needs to not look like he is lecturing with his arms folded, needs to lift his chin more, and use his hands to express his points.  He could easily be in the top tier after last night's performance.

I'm afraid I missed it.  Were Rudy, McCain, et. al. there?

I can honestly say I don't know a thing about Ron Paul and hadn't heard much about him running until last week.

As if any of them have a chance of being elected! I'll be floored if the Dems don't carry off the Presidency this time around.

But of course, on election day, the networks will throw Oklahoma in the Republican slot at 7:01 pm, just like they do every 4 years. :(

Ron Paul's an interesting guy. He's taken the discussion during and after the GOP debates in interesting directions -- directions that quite a few of the Republicans don't like.

I'll come back, revive this thread, and remind you of this after election day.

But like I said, the Networks don't even wait for a vote count here, they just throw Oklahoma in the red column right after the polls close. So I completely understand why the majority of people here would be interested in the republican candidate, even though nationwide the party is in serious crisis.

I believe President Bush's approval rating in Oklahoma still hovers around 50%, compared to his national approval rating of what, 32% or something like that.  IOW, the GOP can almost always count on Oklahoma.
