Councilor, in a radio interview yesterday I heard you say something incredible. During a discussion of the annexation of the Fairgrounds, talk drifted toward the A-ream-a. I distinctly heard you say that the City '. . . ought to give it [the A-ream-a] to the County and be done with it.'
I am sure that I have heard that suggestion before, but I think it bears repeating. Inasmuch as you took the lead on annexing the Fairgrounds, perhaps your supporters of this issue would appreciate your leadership in shifting the burden of the A-ream-a from the City to the County.
Don't take everything that Roscoe says seriously.
He is the epitome of speaking "off the cuff."
After all, he's the one who said, "I'll be dead by 2009" as a reason to oppose the fairgrounds annexation compromise. Seven other councilors -- save for Westcott, who didn't give an all-that-clear reason for his opposition -- didn't listen.
I know that Roscoe is admired in quite a few parts of the city. But sometimes he doesn't think things through.
I wonder if "I'll be dead by 2009" is going to be his campaign slogan next year.
^ There's gotta be a lunch to be won somewhere in that comment. [:P]
