I saw that on the Today show (or CBS, can't remember) this morning.  Kind of choked me up.  The look on the little boy's face would melt the coldest heart.  I hope the Prez. sees it too, repeatedly.

There're a lot of these videos out there on the web.  They're every last one of them heartrending.  Even the ones where the soldiers come home to their dogs.  Even THOSE are amazing.

Tens of thousands of times this is happening across our nation.  And several thousand times it CAN'T happen, across our nation!

Haven't seen a better place than this, so will put it here.

I was walking around through Milwaukee Mitchell International airport a couple weeks ago, having a few minutes to spare between flights, when I found an amazing little museum tucked away in a corner near the A and B concourses.  One small room maybe 15 x 30 feet.  There is a lot of historical info about the airport and early pioneers of aviation.  A model and history of the Lawson airliner is there.

Lots of musty old stuff, pictures and stories that were kind of neat.  I saw a picture of an Air Force Captain, and a collection of medals and the 'salad' that goes on the uniform.  It was just mildly interesting until I noticed that little blue ribbon at the top.  Have seen many pictures, heard stories, but it is still kind of an electric moment when you see one of those in person for the first time.

If there is a ribbon, there must be a medal, so now I am looking around for the medal among the collection below the ribbons.  Immediately to the right of the medals was a rather plain looking piece of paper - his citation.  And just to the right of that sits the Medal of Honor this man earned with his efforts and paid for with his life.  It is moving.

Well worth a little extra time to seek out if in Milwaukee.  And yes, I took pictures.

Sijan is the definition of Bad A$$!! Thanks for the link. And it doesn't hurt to pop in at USO rooms at airports just to thank a soldier.

You would probably really appreciate seeing it in person, if you get the chance.  Tiny little notmuchofanything museum that is very impressive!  I will probably visit every time I go through there now I know it's there....
