Title: Where in Tulsa I can buy hydroponic supplies?
Post by: jamesrage on March 19, 2007, 10:36:21 AM
Where in Tulsa(or anywhere near Tulsa) I can buy hydroponic supplies?

I want to grow some Balcony hybrid tomatoes using a deep water culture system. And mostly I am looking for a growing medium(although I heard cypress mulch is adequate and I think I can get that at a Home Depot or Lowes) and a nutrient solution.

I would buy them out of town, pay cash, use a fake ID and wear big sunglasses.

The "man" watches most of those places and the other are sting operations.

So because a few junkies and drug dealers use hydroponics that ruins any legitimacy for hydroponics?

A few?

The cost, space and expense involved in hydroponics means that more than a few people who have hydroponics are growing weed. Why not just buy a greenhouse?

JamesRage. Chill. It was a joke. Hydroponics is usually associated with drugs.

The stuff to make a deep water culture system is cheap.A five gallon bucket with a lid, aquarium air pump, air stone, airline,a 3 or 4 inch plant pot, a growing medium and a nutrient solution.

I can guarantee that more legit produce is produced by hydroponics than drugs... mostly because many industrial producers use it.   The vast majority of greens (lettuce, spinach) is produced with hydroponics - you get something like twice the yield in half the space in a shorter time frame.

Which is of course why people use it to grow weed in their basements...

The only use I find for downtown is Home Depot,Mexicali Border Cafe and every once in a while Cains ball room. The tea leaves I get from Mecca Coffee company.
