Taking an afternoon walk/break from work a little while ago and saw two sheriff's vehicles, two unmarked cars driven by men carrying guns, ahead of and behind a limo pulling up to The Ambassador Hotel.
The deputy in back got out with a presumably bomb sniffing dog. After the deputy and deputy dog came back out, three women emerged from the limo. First a 40-something woman, heavy with red hair; next a fashionable skinny 20-something wearing high heel boots; then a 40-50 year old woman with big hair. That's all we could see from half a block or so away...
Very curious as to who they are and why they appear to be very important.

Apparently so...I watched the report on KOTV and she's definitely the one that came out of the limo. Don't understand it, but that's what we saw.
The committee probably assigns that much security to make sure Miss America doesnt have the same drug addicted fate as Miss USA. [;)]
So let me get this straight: did they reopen and restore the Ambassador? When I left, it was still boarded up and fenced in.

Forgive me for my original thought reading this as I have been gonefor 9 years, that that area was not the best place after sundown, and I grew up in Tulsa, born in 1963, graduate of Nathan Hale Class of 1981, moved from Tulsa to Phoenix in May of 1998.
It's good to see a rebirth of the downtown area and preservation of historic buildings for things like this. I am suprised and impressed. As a teen and a young adult I always loved things about downtown even though things were in decline then. In some ways it's sad that the Williams Center Forum, the original Bartlett Square, and to an extent the Williams Center Green between the Williams Tower, Williams Hotel(then) and the PAC were, in a way, ahead of their time.

Forgive me for my original thought reading this as I have been gonefor 9 years, that that area was not the best place after sundown, and I grew up in Tulsa, born in 1963, graduate of Nathan Hale Class of 1981, moved from Tulsa to Phoenix in May of 1998.
