Way better...

The old website was embarrassingly bad.

I had to look twice... It seems that the Tulsa World has a New website..

It has the appearance of the Channel 6 website but the similarity stops there..

IMO the new website is not as user friendly as the old.

Have a look and let me know what you think.

You know, that was my impression too.  Was chalking it up to it just being new and me not being used to the new format.  But even after using it for a few days, still find it not as quick and easy as the old website.  You have to dig around more to find the main, interesting, stories for each type of thing you may be interested in. Especially the local stories of all things.  It leans more to the "research engine" kind of format, versus the "here are the news headlines for each topic" sort of thing.

Wish they had done something more like the BBC,  http://news.bbc.co.uk/ or CNN  http://www.cnn.com/  front pages. Many different headlines for the different sections and topics all on the front page. If something interests you, you then go to that section.

The way the TW has it set up you have to go to each and every different page and section every single time, (national business, sports, entertainment, local, lifestyle, spot, etc.) to see if there is a story you may find interesting.  Very clumsy, makes you not want to bother digging around like that.

I have a web-site that is getting national publicity. But it is been a harder road getting publicity in to my own community. I did just in the last week join Tulsa Hotel & Lodging Association and Tulsa Chamber.

The web-site has generated business from one of the two top running Democratic Presidential Candidates. And a couple Pharmaceutical companies placed orders from our ecommerce. http://hotcookies.net

The homepage of the Tulsa World is great.
Is it the first time they have it on the net?
