It looks like the plan is for I-44/Skelly westbound traffic to get on at a new intersection on Hudson Ave. Across from Bishop Kelly, on the old Cohlmia's land. Not positive but the skelly drive improvements seem to start right at where hudson would meet.

Also, They are putting a stoplight at Sheridan and westbound Skelly drive. Seems like a pointless place to put a light, since it doesn't  do much but take you to 41st. This is, of course, unless they want to add a new I_44 westbound entrance between Sheridan and 41st.

This whole project is not part of the major I-44 remodel so information is not as easily obtained. Anyone know anything on this work?

Another idea, are they going to make westbound I-44 traffic exit past 41st, instead of before?

Well all I know is that this part of the project won't even start for another couple of years. The will be an interchange at 41st and hudson, though I don't know the extent of it.

They have started installing the I-44 and sheridan lights. Just not sure why.

Good to know I'm not imagining the hudson part.

Where are those lights, grizz? There's already a light at 41st & Hudson, I figured that's what they would use for the access ramp.

On sheridan, where skelly drive (WB) intersects. They have striped the road and the poles for the lights are up, but not the lights themselves yet.

They added the light yesterday. The only point of this intersection is to make it easier to turn onto skelly drive.

Are they going work on the 41st bridge and use this as a bypass?

Install traffic lights --- that seems to be the Tulsa traffic "engineer's" solution to everything.

Remember when they put the light in at 26th and Harvard so people turning left to get on the BA could get a signal. Both directions turned red when the left turn signal came on, even though no cars turn left from the other direction. Not quite rocket scientists, for sure.

There really is no need for a light there. It's a one way street that cuts through to 41st.

Not directly on topic, but regarding I-44 and Yale, they've really made progress.  From what I can tell, they are trying to achieve a new world's record for the widest intersection/interchange ever constructed.  Looks like 10-12 lanes across that mofo.  Plus they even installed dance floors, have you seen them yet?

Yeah that area is a mess. I like to go to that Whataburger joint there and the traffic is a nightmare, ya can't merge and that traffic light on 41st stays red so darn it's long backing up cars on the service drive, then it does not stay green long enough to let all the traffic thru the intersection.

Well in a unique method of directing traffic, there are now signs directing any traffic looking for the "41st St shopping district" to use the Skelly Drive and Sheridan intersection.

It literally, tells those going north on sheridan, to drive straight through 41st, turn left at Skelly drive, and go back to 41st street.

Was this someone's grand idea for solving 41st&I-44 traffic problems?

They just layed out those roads all wrong long ago. It's hard to fix it now. Any road that has "triangle" intersections is not good. I-44, 51st street, 41 street, Skelly that whole area is a mess. Traffic lights are too long red, not enough green in any direction, the green does not stay green long enough to let all the traffic thru off of Skelly dr.They need to just build a new road.[xx(]

The onyl way I could see this idea working well is if, during I-44 reconstruction, they run skelly drive UNDER 41st along with I-44. You could hit promenade, best buy, etc without even getting on 41st st.
