Any other Cingular customers out there dropping calls every minute when you're downtown? Anybody know what's going on?
I work out of a cave, I get no reception anyway. If I crawl out, I may try calling my one cingular phone from my other one.
Just called myself and stayed on for 6 minutes before I got bored and hung up.
too much concrete downtown, wont allow good reception.Try living in florida where all homes and buildings are made of concrete!
I have cingular downtown and have not experienced any problems.

Six minutes talking to yourself?
If I did that, I would probably start a fight and punch myself.

No-one can entertain you, like yourself.
Perhaps you are moving around in the building when you are on the phone? I know some buildings have elevators that screw with reception and others have satellites and other objections on the roof that can mess with them from time to time. But as for myself, Ive never had an issue with simply dropping calls downtown and Ive worked in the OneOK building, Frisco Building, Secure Agent building, Petroleum Club Tower, a small building near TCC and the both Federal Buildings. Wow, I've covered lots of buildings down there.

no issues here. its your phone.
I've worked with cell-phone companies for a couple of years, now, and usually it's crappy service that drops you. In your circumstance, however, I would have to agree with the phone possibly being the problem. What kind of phone is it?
I have some kind of Nokia (6 months old). It started on Saturday, and the problem is only when I'm downtown. Dropping calls every minute or two. I've talked to several people (with different phones, but all on Cingular) who work downtown who are all having the same issue. Cell tower repairs?
I'll give you the company line of power your phone off and back on. It loads any new updates.
I've tried that one a couple times already...no dice!

That might be part of your problem. There aren't supposed to be any dice.

Do not forget to raise one's left hand and bounce on the right foot.
Ummmmmm... I don't know about Inteller, but Nokias are typically the best phones around.
all brands have good phone and bad phones. The 5160 was one of the best phones ever made, the 8260 was worthless. The motorola black&white flip phones were great but the razr is crap.
I get good reception in the BOK tower about 11 floors up. LG phone w/ Cingular 3g network.
It could very well be the phone. We live downtown and when I was using a Nokia with Cingular service I was constantly losing calls. Replaced the phone with a Motorola and haven't lost a call since.
