Title: Iranian Gov't Prepares Persians for 'Illumination'
Post by: tim huntzinger on February 07, 2007, 12:09:54 PM
From the official Iranian website no less! (//%22http://english.irib.ir/IRAN/Leader/Illumination.htm%22)

Here is an irony: 'The Prophet's cousin, son-in-law and first infallible successor, Imam Ali (PBUH), says there is no blessing better than security. He believes the worst city is one without security and greenness.'

Greenness? Tehran reports that pollution kills 3600 a month. (//%22http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070109/sc_afp/iranhealthpollution_070109155637%22)

Here is Ahmadinejad's 'blog.'  Watch closely for updates. (//%22http://www.ahmadinejad.ir/%22)

"Iran reformists want U.S. to tone it down
Nuclear rhetoric helps a faltering Ahmadinejad stay popular, they say."

"But many Iranians say the international dispute over Iran's nuclear program has become a rallying point for a president who otherwise would be facing substantial public dissatisfaction over soaring inflation, rising unemployment and widespread censorship.

This has been a source of frustration to Iran's reformists, who dealt the president's party a blow at the polls in local elections in December but complain that the Bush administration's threatening rhetoric has pulled the rug out from under them. "
