We lost electricity for about 2 1/2 hours yesterday, but thankfully it came back. We were all set to spend a couple days without electricity. That would not have been so great, but others out there are far worse than we are.
So you guys are enjoying the last ice/snow storm?
I love looking out at the beautiful, snow covered houses, and the sledding has been great. But I am ready for spring now. I will be especially ready for spring when it hits 0 degrees tomorrow. I love snow for about 3 or 4 days, then I want it to just go away--none of that ugly, black snow melt covering your car.
I think "enjoying" is a strong term.
I, at the age of 22, seem to have injured my back from sitting in my computer chair. I cannot stand up straight and it hurts to do anything other than sit. LOL
I have had a miserable day.
My office building lost power sometime over the weekend and somehow a circuit blew and now my phones and computers won't work. The property changed hands over the new year and the new property management can't be reached today. I can't get any of the recycling centers opened and am afraid that people will just run out of space and throw good recyclables away.
I burned lunch, lost a game of Battleship to my son, and had a fight with my wife over stupid household stuff. I slipped in the driveway and ripped a pair of pants and one of the dogs pooped in the house because it was too cold to go outside.
I slid into a pole in the grocery store parking lot denting my bumper and while in the store, received a call that my niece had a wreck in south Tulsa. Everybody is OK, but rescue took hours and Story Wrecker is still not on the scene.
I just got an e-mail saying school was cancelled tomorrow. My kids have cabin fever and have developed high pitched screams that are causing the remaining dogs to almost pee and causing me to beat my head against the wall.
Thanks for listening.
Last 3 hours I been testing my new mummy bag out on the back deck of my girlfriends home.
Pretty good day.

There are slopes leading up to my house on all sides with entrances. My garage door broke just in time for the storm, so I have to park outside, then somehow walk uphill on a sheet of ice to the door. Today I wasn't sure I was going to make it. I wound up literally crawling up the driveway on my hands and knees. Better than falling I guess. :) I need to get some of that ice melt stuff, but that would mean venturing back out!
Sorry you had such a bad day Michael. Hopefully tommorow will be better! [:)]
I found an excellent solution to cabin fever. We've been cleaning out closets, cupboards, drawers etc., and putting aside clothing, shoes, coats, small household appliances, books, toys and games for the Salvation Army. I now have 15 bags waiting in the dining room. At least I'll be ready for spring and won't be doing much spring cleaning when the weather turns from gloom to bloom[:D]
Yesterday was the first time I actually felt trapped indoors, but with my iPod blasting and all that cleaning, I felt rejuvenated.
Kids are more than READY to get back out because this cleaning spree isn't their idea of fun. I wonder why?
I detest snow. It looks good for a day or so but once I have to get out in that stuff I am not too happy. Our dog is avoiding going outside and yesterday he was halfway between indoors and outdoors when he started to pee!! Can't blame the poor little guy though.
Keep safe all.
I'm in Cape Canaveral, Fl. This is what it looks like outside my temporary office... Enjoy!

Doing fine, thank you.
I think Tulsa metro lucked out with this one; even though my neighborhood is still solid ice everywhere, my electric has not even flickered even once, to my knowledge. I really feel for those folks in Muskogee and down Mcalester way.
Thank goodness natural gas prices are down this year. If it were like last year, I would be facing a $300+ ONG bill for January, but I don't expect it to be near that much.

Thanks.
I got the office stuff all working, but the recycling centers are closed for the fifth day in a row. I took an ice melt product around to each of the parking lots but it is still not safe enough for many people to recycle. I now have a small pile at each center thawing out and waiting for my workers to come back.
School is out again tomorrow. My kids have gone nine days in the last thirty...I swear that they are going to have to be re-trained in every way. The dogs too.
I haven't burnt any food, had any more losses at games with my kids or argued with the wife, but her father passed away this morning after a long illness. She is OK, but pretty sad.
Can't wait till spring...
Every time I experience weather like this I wonder why on earth someone would want to live any further north.

Sorry about your wife's Dad.

Soon as it thaws out below Dallas I am heading out for the rest of winter.
Fell lastnight trying to get up the girlfriends drive and slid all the way back down.
Many witness's, we laughed pretty hard.
This morning my arm, elbow and hip smarts: and I can't turn my head to the right.
Arizona I'm a comin'...
You didn't need to look to the right anyway. There ain't nothin to see over there.
Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts do.
My family lifestyle changed dramatically Tuesday. My truck got stuck at 18th & Peoria. Since we live nearby my wife elected to walk home and left me to extricate the beast. Within two blocks of home she fell and broke her right wrist. Strong Norwegian that she is, she got up, called my son to tell him to come escort her and continued another block where she slipped and broke the other wrist! Never a tear over the pain but blubbered over the frustration of knowing that two men, a 13yr old and her husband are now in control of her destiny. Temporary splints and surgery on Monday. I am now the official cabin boy. Ain't life grand?
Sanded top of driveway yesterday to run and slide down the slope. Very fun until I pull a hammy and limp back inside, where I read about "girl with two broken wrist's" - haven't been out of the house since.
Today I must forage for food.
Anyone else suddenly afraid to step on a piece of ice?

Does she make you wear the official cabin boy uniform?
I bought sand from Sutherlands and had the kids spread it all over the driveway, sidewalk and the street in front of the house. Everything is much easier.
The trash truck made it through the neighborhood this morning. Makes me think it is all going to be back to normal soon.
What? Snow this weekend?
Mother Nature hates me.

Yeh, I even have to salute her and confess absolute allegiance to her needs and wants. I may end up with RN status within 6 weeks. Snow? C'mon momma nature! I can take your best hit and still mock you!
