Ice Storm did not keep the fans away from the 21st Annual O'Reilly Chili Bowl Nationals.

I didn't have tickets for Friday or Saturday but I'd have definitely gone. I was there on Wednesday and watched some pretty good races.

I wonder how many of the locals that attended the Chili Bowl last weekend, called in absent at work on Monday Morning because the streets were too slick to get to work.......

Hey, the streets were slicker Monday than they were over the weekend! Areas I could traverse with my truck over the weekend caused me to be stuck Mon-Tue.  My wife actually fell yesterday after having gotten through what we thought was the worst. She broke both wrists!

My residential neighborhood is worse each day. We have so little traffic and I swear have thicker ice in East Tulsa.

There have been at least a dozen cars in the ditch of 89th east ave between 13th and 16th street and it is completely flat.

I don't know why, but it was just re-done and maybe the contractor put in a small crown.

I live just a half mile southeast of the fairgrounds, and there was noticeable less noise from the Chili Bowl this year.  Ususally, around 10:00 at night, I can hear the engines roaring at my house, even with the doors and windows closed, but not this year.  There was also less traffic through my neighborhood, I am sure because of the ice storm.  I don't wish any economic loss to the City, but I certainly haven't missed the noise and traffic.

They had record numbers in attendance for the entire week.  Saturday was a total zoo the building was crammed packed.  I was told by security that Tony Stewart did not finish with autographs until midnight.

They were finished with the A-Features around 10pm each night other than Saturday.  Believe they started around 10:15 for the 50 lap final A-Feature on Saturday night.

The VISION 2025 2 Million Dollar roof renovation, which included the addition of a new automated ventilation system, has greatly helped reduce fumes and keeps the noise inside the building.

It is no longer necessary to open the doors for bringing in outside air. It is done automatically using louvered metal vents that were installed on the outside walls of the Expo building.

One of the best improvements at the Expo, brought to you by VISION 2025!
