I would think a nude statue of the cast members of the Brady Bunch TV would be appropriate for Brady Heights.

One must under the councilor objection as he already has strips bars in his district with continuous live action going on.

Its always a good policy for an elected offical to dive in head first. Facts are irrelevant and confusing. Knowing the facts can impede righteous anger and prevent lashing out.

I don't care what the plans say, I know these people are going to gate this community and stand around looking at nudes.

The Arts commission was approving the design for the monument back at the same meeting they approved my mural so it's not as though the councilor hasn't been able, at any time during the past month or so, to just simply go look at the renderings they have. Him thinking it was a nude and not going to see what it actually was is sillieness or lazieness on his part. The arts commission people were excited that the artist was going to be working with the students, making it a great learning opportunity and something for the students to be proud of doing for their community.

This councilor sounds nutty.

And whats with the objections to traffic calming devices at this traffic circle that people are complaining is a hazard?  If its a hazard and traffic calming devices will make it less so, arent the calming devices part of the solution?

Well let me ask you all this... If the councilor hadn't made that misinformed protest about Brady Heights, would anyone have noticed anything was going on in Tulsa? I mean sure, he might be loopy, but it's for the good of the people. Throw the word "nude" in somewhere and all of a sudden people are like, "wow, that's going up in Tulsa (not necessarily the naked statue)? I should go check that out." I encourage news reporters to say (I am being completely sarcastic), "Today several artists and city officials decided to construct a 40' high painting of a naked Bill Clinton on the side of the BOK Center." People around Tulsa would say, "Wow, that's what we're building downtown. Holy cow!"[^]

The objection is that some people don't want the traffic calmed, they wanna drive like a bat outta hell up and down Denver. That, or they're too stupid to know how to navigate a traffic circle.

Of course, the reason it's there in the first place is because the neighborhood complained mightily for years about the reckless speeders on Denver and asked for traffic calming before someone's kid gets killed.

Just goes to show that no matter what is done, some won't like it. If 97 out of 100 love something, it'll be the other 3 in the paper and on the local news.

North Denver is a residential Street. If you want to speed, get on the Osage/Tisdale. If you want to drive slowly and look at nudes that are actualy mosaics designed by school children, head north on Denver. Be sure to enjoy the Clink on your way out of dt.
