What is pathetic about it? the fact that people don't like Clear Channel and are protesting about it? it doesn't sound like they were harmful or even did anything illegal. Wish something would have happend when Rock 102.3 went to Spirt 102.3[:(!]

What's pathetic is this weeks Urban Tulsa. Seen the cover? Seen the inside? See the sanctimonious hypocrisy? Sacrilege.

BTW, Clear Channel does suck.

Air America has been struggling financially. Most radio stations run on advertising. (One high-numbered AM station runs on hot air and steam, but that's another story)

I love it when sound financial decisions are considered an affront to civil rights.

I agree with that point. But for the beginning, you cannot be serious. A mock funeral procession? Can't people at least be original? What's next? A die in? Or, raising our gloved fists and shouting "Power to the People!!!!"

Sgrizz, killer points again.

Like saying "I support the troops" but don't do anything tangible to actually support them?

But He hung out with these people, some say He even married one!  In fact, some publications encourage this kind of behavior. Not.

What gets me about Air America is how unfunny Franken was.  For all the talk of the liberal entertainment industry, it is amazing how shrill and unfunny his show was.  I like his dry caustic wit, but it never came through.  They should have focused on his show as the anchor with more production value and let Rhoads and Chuck D and Garafalo provide filler.

Free speech is one thing.  Having something substantive that people want to listen to which will drive ad revenue is entirely something else.  Next thing you know, they will somehow declare AA as being artistic in nature and there will be government subsidies for Airhead America to keep the playing field "fair".

The market drives ad revenue.  If you give people something they really want to listen to, the advertisers pay attention to the Arbitrons and will contribute to the cause.  If the numbers aren't there, then you wind up with sports talk, cool jazz, or Christian music.
