I could swear I heard Charles Norman say WalMart would cooperate and even help pay for extending this street all the way through this section when the zoning hearing happend 2 years ago.
It was just another hoax?
Get things in writing when developers or their agents make assertions and indications in front of the city zoning comish and before final zoning is approved. Especially when it is opportunistic trillion dollar companies specializing in oppresive tactics....I can't believe the Publicdiswerks department missed this opportunity....
Correct me if I am wrong......
You can get from Mingo to Memorial thru the neighborhood already...
Do you really think the neighborhood wants additional traffic seeing as how they managed to close the entrance connecting to the mall to one way traffic already?
no, that would pop out just behind Union. not gonna happen.
Coming from Mingo, the road to the mall passes by a retirement community, which has already complained about weekday lunchtime traffic between Mingo and the mall. Union still has an off-campus lunch policy.

Inteller, I usually agree with your comments, but a traffic light there would improve and safen the high school traffic.
The street was to help in bypassing that neighborhood.
Don't most sections of town have through streets every half mile?
I am commenting more about a promise unkept than the logistics. I guess it was just lawyer bs despite my utmost respect for him. But the city had a chance to fulfill a neccesary traffic commitment.

why do you even care about that part of town? you are busy making smartass comments about questioning people at woodland hills or coming out of church if they know about the blue dome district.
the city did get some stuff out of walmart....who do you think repaved portions of the ring road around the mall?
perhaps the original post was referring to a road behind Chili's, Circuit City, Golf-Galaxy, etc east to between Sam's and Union?
Well, here we go again. Patel tells us he's hoping for a road out to Mingo. Since he's doing a ground lease with Simon how's that going to happen? Now that Public Works, BOA, COT and Incog failed to make way for this road when adjustments were made to accommodate Wal Mart at 68th and Memorial the horse is out of the barn. Broken promises by the powers that be.....
http://www.tulsaworld.com/BusinessStory.asp?ID=070117_Bu_E1_Hotel16431
There are too many hotels in and around Tulsa....cheap ones at that.....loose money from lenders coupled with promoters always lead us to boom and then bust.
If there are too many hotels I wonder why the recent hotel study said there weren't enough?
66th could run to 169 with little problem.

would definitely help traffic get around 71st&hell
