Instead of working together...plotting to hurt our system...
Republicans plot to bring down Pelosi ... and Clinton with her
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/11/19/wus19.xml
"The Republican strategy is not only to undermine Mrs Pelosi's control of the House but also to associate her in voters' minds with Senator Hillary Clinton, the frontrunner for the 2008 Democrat presidential nomination."
Well, jeez ... trying to demonize Pelosi before the election really worked for the GOP, didn't it?
[}:)]
Oh and I suppose the Democrats never do anything like that? Democrats are flawless aren't they?
It's time to become nationalists....but with c(l)ubbie types like repugs I guess we can't count on unity, only divisiveness.
Misogyny. There's absolutely no way that they could anger more than half the country with that tactic. What a bunch of knuckleheads.[xx(]

Easy Cubs, aox is just saying that "REPUGS" should not be divisive.

LOL! Looks to me like you DID try...and failed. No big deal. I like consistency.

Uh, I don't agree with having a gameplan to take someone down either, and I sincerely hope that the new Congress performs in a stellar manner. But isn't calling someone a "Repug" being a tad divisive in itself?
Snopes, that was my point.

Sorry guido, I've been really dense lately and haven't "gotten it" on several occasions. Seriously, I'm having mental farts left and right; maybe it's the cold.
The comment and link on the Bush library has to do with waste and plans for the man after politics. Nice try though but it's not hypocritical.
snopes. No prob. All this cold, ice and snow from global warming is effecting me too (sorry, couldn't resist). However, one has to wonder why AOX doesn't get it. AOX starts a thread entitled "Repugs: Same old story" complaining that "repugs" are being devisive. Confronted with that hypocrisy, aox then retreats to an internal link he posted within this thread regarding the Bush library (which clearly has nothing to do with the "repugs" being devisive or trying to undermine Pelosi) in hopes of gaining some cred. Oh well...
Yeah I kind of lost the connection on Aox's last post there. Had a hard time understanding the relationship between the two. But, considering my mental track record lately I just played it safe and kept my mouth shut.
You provide the perfect set up for this!

"a direct link between mental illness and support for President Bush."
Surely you jest aox. Some of this crap is just as bad as the stuff that Limbaugh spews to his devotees.
Are you kidding, the New Haven Advocate? Sounds like Urban Tulsa.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Haven_Advocate
I found this part of the article interesting. "The Advocates accept a wider variety of advertisements than mainstream newspapers, including ads for strip clubs, erotic massage services, adult book and video stores, etc., which columnists and readers have argued conflict with the newspapers' avowed feminism.."
BTW, what does that article have to do with your own hypocrisy? Oh, I know, the New Haven Advocate is also hypocritical.
You guys get it, you just can't accept it.

One doesn't have to lie to be a disservice; misinformation can be a much more useful tool.
They can simply post ridiculous articles like the one above while in the same breath calling for all of the divisiveness to stop.
Misinformation is lying....I am really restraining myself....

Let's see .... New Haven vs. Tulsa local newspapers. Which one might just have better educated writers?

If you'll read my post I said misinformation can be a much more useful tool than lying. There is a difference between the two, imo.

Another snobbish opinion courtesy of aox. Since the writers come from New England they are surely more educated than the simple unwashed down here in Tulser, Okiehoma I suppose?
YES....most definately. Yale rules over anything around here. Even if their legacies attract the mentally ill....even doedoe's and dope's.
According to the 2000 census....
In New Haven County, 27.6 percent of its 25+ population have bachelor's degrees or more.
In Tulsa County, 26.9 percent of its 25+ population have Bachelor's degrees or more.
If you know a 500 people in each town, four more of them would have degrees in New Haven.

Didn't Bush grad'iate from Yale? High standards there, I see.
Aox, a little advice; your somewhat condescending attitude only serves to alienate many people that agree with you much of the time. Can you take that kind of constructive criticism?

Maybe you are just hanging out with the wrong people.
I am sure there are plenty of smart people here and plenty of stupid people there.
If you left here and went there, you might improve the IQ of both towns.
Has anyone looked at the New Haven Advocate's website? It's nothing more than an alternative media source with a very small circulation. It's not a mainstream media newspaper by any means, which is why I compared it to Urban Tulsa.
This entire thread was about AOX complaining of the divisiness of Repugs. He then proceeds to prove his point by being devisive. Your right AOX, this thread is dead. It was killed the moment you turned your thoughts to words and posted them on this thread.

Yep Clavin, I am under thirteen. Either that or I am just getting into one of the themes that permeates this board--name-calling.

Trying to rewrite history is another thing that makes you a neocon.
I remember that thread Clavin (without even re-reading it) and remember using the term "simpleton." Is that the best you can do? I know I have criticized others for misstating facts (liars) and for being uneducated/uninformed (moron) and for being an overly-opinionated windbag (Clavin). The reason I remember this particular word is because since then I have repeatedly seen you using that word. I think you learned something new from that thread. Either that or my typing slower has helped you keep up.

If there's one thing worse than a hypocrite, it's a passive-aggressive hypocrite. Don't you even have the nads to just come out and do your name calling (which you pretend to be above) without having to hide behind a side-ways delivery?

A good friend of mine recently married Cliff, er John, and man will he be insulted to hear you name calling using his character.

Pappa, good job ratting out the rats!
AOX: Are you coming back for more? Oh that's right, you and clavin are each other's band aids. In any case, I am going to heed the editor.
