LOSERS (//%22http://www.batesline.com/archives/002863.html#comments/%22)
Sorry, I just couldn't resist. It's been awhile since Democrats had the opportunity to gloat. I guess the politics of fear based faith is starting to lose it's effectiveness with voters.
Somehow he "objectively" picked each race and still ended up voting straight-party republican.
Whether they end up taking the Senate or not, this'll give Cubs and the other neocons another excuse to blame EVERYTHING on the Democrats. [}:)]
Everything is the fault of the incumbent.
Who cares what Master Bates thinks, anyway? He needs to change his self-proclaimed 'neighborhood activist' title to 'rigid, paid partisan hack.' His type will always declare their objectivity, but when pusch comes to shove they are unwilling to hold their own accountable.

Well, though I agree, he is allowed to run his monotone rhetoric on KFAG without limits.
Your humor is really lacking... Saying KFAG demeans you as much as what you are disparaging.

all in all Master Bates provides a great service, he tells us who the winners are by endorsing the losers. If I was a candidate endorsed by him I would PAY him to take the endorsement back.....his endorsements are political death plain and simple.
My partner based all of their votes for the more minor races on who Bates did not endorse. It's hard to get good information on some of the races and Bates proved invaluable.
Bates didn't pick all losers.
Smaligo won.
Kuehn won.
Bob Anthony won.
Some republican state senate and state reps won.
Yazel won.
Sullivan won.
Tim Harris won. (yeah this was in the primary, but he still won)
I have always based my vote on the endorsements of Bates. He went to MIT afterall.
Ahem. He's a computer geek (no insult intended), not a political science major.
The MIT degree is no more relevant to his punditry than what type of car he drives.
Yeah, Massachusetts Institute of TECHNOLOGY.
Not a lot of politicians come from there.
The membership in the local self-anointed right-wing authoritarians club never fails to amaze me. I can never understand why DelGiorno, Medlock and Bates keep trying to combine, form voltron.

As far as I can gather a total of 3 members of the house and senate went to MIT, which isn't that great. Not that I can crow only 4 members went to my old uni.
Just think, if Kathy Taylor hadn't gotten cold feet, she might be the represenative elect from the 1st District of Oklahoma right now.
You also notice how Bates managed to say to vote no on every judge appointed by either Nigh or Henry.
He gave a pass to O'Palla since, ostensibly, he is pro-life.
Bates suffers from severe myopia. The fact that he makes any sort of income from his punditry is amazing to me.
He must have not take a certain linguistics class.

Is it true that Bates was offered a job with the Democrats... and got his resume together and ran right over...?
ok.. /sarcasm aside/
Any individual that spends the greater portion of 4 years showing you how crooked Politicians and Businessmen are ruining your Community... and then at the "drop of a hat" turns all smiles and thumbs up in regards to the same people...
What advise could they possibly have to offer regarding anything that would be of any value..?
I take Bates for what he is...brilliant on planning issues and a complete idiot on social issues. I love him and hate him at the same time.

That's an exceedingly accurate statement about how I feel about the guy too.
RW & Inteller:
I cannot believe you both thought I was serious. I know what MIT stands for and that its not a bastion of political thought (as proof, I offer as Exhibit A- Noam Chomsky). KFAQ hypes this guy's education to give him some credibility--kinda like a former city counselor we all know.
RW. BTW, my undergrad major was political science--thanks for giving me some cred.

HAHAHAHAHA!!! What a funny concept!
She only beat a very unpopular mayor 51 to 47. There is no way she could have beaten Sullivan. The city of Tulsa would probably have voted for Sullivan over Taylor and Washington county, Wagoner county, and the remainder of Tulsa county would have overwhelmingly voted Sullivan.
