Title: Art Deco
Post by: Johnboy976 on November 07, 2006, 07:38:53 AM
Can someone site to me the source that quotes Tulsa as having the third largest collection of art deco buildings in the country? I noticed that someone had posted such a claim on Wikipedia. If it is not true, I want to make that alteration.

For all things Art Deco, I would talk to architect and TulsaNow board member, Rex Ball.  He's also on the Tulsa Preservation Commission.

Here's a nice little blurb about Tulsa's Art Deco architecture on the Tulsa Library's website: http://www.tulsalibrary.org/research/artdeco/artdecointulsa.htm

I'm not sure what our exact ranking is, but offhand, I can't think of a city other than Miami that has more Art Deco buildings.  Maybe Chicago or New York?  Dunno.  Ask Rex.
