There was an ad in Sunday's paper for a new downtown restaurant hiring- Soranno's Upscale Italian Caffe' and Coffee House. Does anyone know where it is located and when it might be opening?
Also, wonder why nothing has gone in the former Fifteenth Street Wok location? I recall it was a really unique space, but that could work well for the right thing. Thoughts?
The only coffee house I know of us Topeca in the mayo hotel. Unless maybe this is what they are calling the retail part of the company.
Its on the ground floor of First Place Tower at 5th and boston. I've peeked in and it looks like its going to be a nice little joint. It looks like the've almost finished, so I would think it would open in the next month or so.
Also - there is a new Mexican Buffet Restaurant in the old Nelson's location on Boston. I think it is called Jalapeno's.
The Fifteenth Street Wok restaurant is an excellent location--I don't know why it hasn't rented. I believe that they have added rooftop dining, for whomever eventually rents.
If you're thinking of opening a restaurant, can I offer a suggestion? I would love to see a Creperie on Cherry Street. I am homesick for my favorite restaurant from college days:

I think someone is moving into the old WOK site. The door is fixed.

That weally wocks. [:P]
I spoke to a worker today. Soranno's is to open on November 7th. Like I said previously, its a nice place. They have really spent some $$ on the remodeling. I assume that since it is in First Place Tower (one of the properties that K&K purchased) that this is one of the first retail developments they had talked about.
anyone eaten at the Mexican restaurant yet? I'm always glad to hear of new things going in downtown, wish some of them would stay around. Still missing Ike's . . . . especially with cooler weather around
I hope this isn't another 11-2 M-F joint. We've got more than enough of those. Restaurants open nights and weekends are sorely needed so downtown won't be so lifeless.
