When Harris says that he has filed 9 out of 10 cases, he is including everything, tickets, misdemeanors and felonies. He has filed fewer felony cases by a number of about 2000 per year. How you do that with a record high crime rate is beyond me.
As a member of law enforcement let me tell you about this appeal process that he spoke about when an officer feels like a case should have been filed but was declined by the prosecutor. NO ONE in my agency knew about this process before a week ago.
I will be surprised if any of the local FOP lodges support Harris. It is time for a change at the DAs office. Brett Swab is more than up for the job.
