I went out to the Riverwalk tonight. I went once right after it had opened and didn't like it that much. To me it seemed just like any other "nice" strip center but facing the river. Well I went back tonight and the place was packed, as I expected. I still didn't like the huge parking lot but realized some tree islands placed here and there would greatly improve its look. There were people walking around everywhere, kids playing in the fountain, and people enjoying dinner and drinks in patios along the sidewalks. The river was a little low but it still looked nice.
I had some sushi and some beers at Tsunami which was good but pricey. I then walked over to the Riverwalk cinema and saw The DaVinci Code. That theatre, while smaller than the ones I'm used to in Tulsa, is very nice and well-integrated into the whole development. I couldn't help thinking how nice more stores and cafes, and the Barnes & Noble, will be on the other side of the cinema. I then wondered how cool it would be to have condos on the other side of the river, the Tulsa side, and have those connected to Riverwalk by a new modern pedestrian bridge and the existing Jenks ped. bridge. I gained a lot of respect for that development tonight, what does everyone here think of it?
