Thousands of tribal official descended on Tulsa to attend the Native American Employment and Training Council's 17th annual conference, the first time the event has been in Oklahoma since the early days of Ronald Reagan's presidency.

The council, which by law is governed by no less than 17 people, is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment & Training Administration, and is made up of American Indian organizations and Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian groups.
