I grew up on a small farm over in Arkansas. We got our first television, an Admiral black and white set, in 1952. There were only, I believe, channel 6 in Tulsa and Channel 7 in Joplin That we could receive. Channel 2 was there, but too weak for our location. If we wanted to change channels we had to go outside and twist the antennae pole toward the new channel location.
We put up with lots and lots of screen snow. Television programming started around 7 a.m. and sign off in early evening.
