Several of the city council races were decided in the primary, but some still remain. Districts 3, 4, 5, 6 & 9 still have a general election, though the odds in some are poor. So here is my prediction
District 3--Roscoe Turner. Who is the republican running? Sorry, don't think he has a chance.
District 4--Barnes v. Bartlett. One of the more interesting races. Maria Barnes is the democrat, in a district where democrats slightly outnumber republicans. But the republican candidate had dropped out of the race, only to win based on a familiar sounding name (Bartlett--no relation). Bartlett did have some last minute campaigning (he was silent most of the election season), but I think Barnes will win decisively.
District 5--Martinson v. Kirby--This will be an interesting one to watch. I hear Kirby has worked hard--knocking on doors and making phone calls. I believe it may pay off for him.
District 6--Mautino v. Troyer--I believe Mautino will win his district once again. Those who like Mautino are devoted volunteers who have worked very hard for him. I believe it will pay off.
District 9--Carter v. Kates--Like the Roscoe Turner race, Kates hasn't a chance in this heavily republican area.
