Cleaning out the bookcases of my late grandfather (James G. Saied, founder of Saied Music Co.), I found the book The Customer Is Always, by Lewis Meyer, a novel he wrote based around his store. I remember hearing stories about that place from my grandfather, and from landlords along Brookside when I was looking at a place to open my own book store.
Anybody on here have any stories about the Lewis Meyer Bookstore? It was next door to The Brook when it was a theater, right? After reading that book, I feel more connected to Tulsa's lively past and encouraged because I know people today want more of the same.
