Title: Should all have the right to vote?
Post by: shadows on December 31, 2005, 05:33:13 PM
Having changed the election laws where it is almost impossible to go through the day without being given an application to register to vote in the election process but there still a problem?   Even with the increase availability of registering the voters there seems to be a decline in the number voting in many elections.  In order to improve the count wouldn't much be accomplished by increase the participation to have the absentees ballot printed in the news papers or offered over the airways for three days prior to holding the election?  Those shut off from the elections because of lack of transportation or with other handicaps, due to their excess time to study the question, would be most informed on the question being submitted.   The completed ballot would be dropped in the mail with the board paying the reduced postage which would be a lesser cost than many elections costing dollars for each ballot cast.

Also wouldn't it alert the candidates and question promoters to clarify all questions or items so those confined can vote from their homes instead of having to arrange to go or be taken miles to the election board to obtain an absentee ballot?

Let us do as we say we are doing in promoting free elections.   What say yea?
