Title: 509 anti-war signatures
Post by: altruismsuffers on December 14, 2005, 05:00:54 PM
509 anti-war signatures & 38 pages of anti-war comments were delivered directly to  Sullivan's office today.  The MoveOn.org electronically organized the petition for OK District-1.  There were 287 "Bring the Troops Home" petition deliveries planned nationwide today.

This is part of an effort to say we want our troops to come home from Iraq—we want an exit strategy plan. We want to get out of Iraq in 2006. An exit plan to bring the troops home from Iraq is what the majority of American people want—and now it is clear that is what the Iraqis want. It is the best option we have from the mess the president has made in Iraq.

This is a very important time in the debate over the war in Iraq. The Iraqi elections are tomorrow and many members of Congress are examining and changing their position on troops in Iraq.

Todays event was planned on behalf of Tulsa Peace Fellowship (tulsapeace.org)  We had 11 participants, and coverage from channel 6.
