I've been back in Tulsa for several months now and I've tried out several major grocery chains. We started at one nearest our home but had to move on because we found that we were frequently being overcharged. So we went to another major grocery store but soon discovered we were still being overcharged. Oh I got credits and talked to managers but we found the problem was ongoing. So I switched to the grocery store that was described to me as reasonably priced and locally owned. Sure enough by the second trip there we found over charges to the tune of over $7. So yesterday we found another grocery store and guess what. First visit we were overcharged $3.
I don't feel like I'm being singled out. I've noticed several other people in line complaining and asking for adjustments. It reminds me of a case I heard about in California about six years ago where I believe it was Safeway and Albertsons lost a class action case brought against them for systemic overcharging. The incorrect prices were loaded into their computer systems.
What I have seen are sale items being sold for regular price. What you see on the ticket is the regular price. You are not given the reduced sale price.
So much of this has happened that I now have a strong feeling that what is going on in Tulsa is systemic and a deliberate shearing of the sheep.
Has anyone else encountered this?
