I was told that this project is now under construction and there is a tower crane at the site. Does anyone know the status of the Cascia Hall performing arts center to be built next to it? I know there was some debate with the Utica Place developers. Maybe if this is successful there will be more mid-rises built in Midtown or maybe Uptown?

This thing looks like it is about ready for occupants.

"Now under construction"...I'd say it's darn near complete. You ought to drive by it some time. I'm not sure of the status with the Cascia Hall building though.
I thought the Cascia PAC had been finished for awhile.

D'oh!!!!
Took some pics today for those who apparently dont get out very often. "course here I am posting on this forum on a Saturday night lol"
It was a bit sunny and no clouds so the pics look a little bland. I think this Utica Place development is going to be really nice once the get all the details on and the landscaping in. I wish he would do something this size or larger in the old Helmerich and Payne spot just across the way.

And since I was there I went ahead and got a shot of Cascia Halls new building. Its pretty much everything just to the left of that tree in the middle.

I don't know if I'm that crazy about something that tall and expansive right there, but it's definitely a vast improvement over the WWII era apartments it replaced on the land.
I like it, but the entire top two stories is the developer's home. Must be nice to be able to wiz on the peasants below shopping at Utica Square.
I think this project will have an outstanding fill rate. Bumgardner got this one right!
I had wondered what the plans were for the grassy lots around the cul-de-sac on the west (Utica Ave.) side. According to their website there will be 7 'courtyard villas' built here starting in 2011 that will back up to Utica with access off 22nd Pl. Good to see more infill planned for this area, even if it is more Tuscan you-know-what. ;) Who owns the big lot to the south in between Utica Place and Cascia?

Those protesting the new "homeless" development (Hudson Villas) will have a hay-day with this one!!

They only protest if the tenants have a lower salary than them.
Am I the only one here that doesn't understand why there's no hotel serving Utica Square? Boggles the mind. I mean all that's there is fine dining, casual dining, shopping, Starbucks, etc.... why does this city insist on developing everything in complete isolation? If we took all the best parts of Tulsa that were well-intended and stuck them in the same place, we'd have one AMAZING entertainment district. As it is, we can't seem to put it all together in the same location at the same time.
I have mentioned that several times. It boggles the mind that there is no hotel there. Just per the fact that where there is a large hospital, you will usually find a hotel nearby, would make it a logical place to have one. Add to that the number of people visiting Tulsa and asking where they can stay to walk to shopping and dining, then add Philbrook nearby, etc..... I don't get it at all why there isnt a hotel in the Utica Square area.

And there is a perfect location for such a hotel on the old H&P property at the NW corner of 21st & Utica. Such a hotel could face the small plaza with the fountain and share the parking garage to the north. Something nice like a Westin, Hyatt, or Omni.
Forget across the street...I'd put the Hotel on Utica Square property proper...right where the F&M Bank and drive thru are...
I agree.
That might've been an excellent place for the new aLoft hotel being finished behind Best Buy on the 71st St. corridor.
IMO, that corner could fill up 100 upscale limited service rooms without a problem.
I saw an amendment was passed last week for the Utica Place PUD. Instead of the 10 single family townhomes around the cul-de-sac at 22nd Pl & Utica it will now be a mixed-use office/12 unit residential building fronting Utica with another office building to the east adjacent to Temple Israel and Cascia Hall. You can see the conceptual plans here: http://www.tmapc.org/Agenda/PUD-680-A.pdf (http://www.tmapc.org/Agenda/PUD-680-A.pdf)

I saw a short reference to that in the paper. Those renderings look quite swanky. Mixed use as well. WIN!
Actually, I don't think there will be any residential. The PDF shows that there are 12 units in the tower and that none will be added. Somewhat of a disappointment, but overall a good development.

Guess I read it wrong. That is too bad. Also I was wrong about the "new" building to the east; it's already there. That is quite a bit of new office space then, but I've heard they are full and there is a lot of demand for midtown office space because there isn't a lot of it..

The PDF says 10 units are presently in the tower, with two to be added.
The owner of this project got his (waaay over inflated ego) ego handed back to him stamped with "LOOSER" from a Dec 9 court descision stemming from trying to screw his general contractor out of all the change orders invilved with the project.
Good and right will always always prevail over greed and corruption. (excellent record keeping helps too make this true also!)
Isn't the GC also one of the tenants of the building?
Yes.
That's gotta be awkward.
Not as awkward as building a fine product correctly and then have a massive lawsuit jammed up your back side. Right is right and wrong looses.
Kill them with kindness!
