Title: Kum & Go got up and went
Post by: dbacksfan 2.0 on November 13, 2024, 08:10:55 PM
I see that Kum & Go has been bought by Maverick convenience stores and will be changing out all the signage. IIRC Maverick has been in Oklahoma for years, I remember stopping at one in Stillwater many times.

Gas Buddy seems to be listing several locations in the Tulsa area as Maverick.

I think the Tulsa area Kum & Go locations used to be Git & Go, but I'm not sure.

I think Git-N-Go was still in business when I left, but they were just becoming messy, similar to when Circle K switched over to STAX.

A couple of friends and I went through a whole list of alternative names for Kum & Go that I can't repeat in public.

Haven't been to one that was ex-GitNGo.   Their fountain drinks are better than QuikTrip!!!   By a LOT!   OnCue in OKC is similar.

But I was in OKC area about 2 weeks ago and somewhere in that trip, I saw a QuikTrip.  I guess the anti-trust collusion agreement is over now...

Kum & Go at 111th and Memorial was GitNGo for a long time.  Still shows as a Kum & Go.

Haven't been to a K&G or an On Cue in recent trips back. I stick with QT, was so glad when they came to Phoenix back around 2000. I do occasionally go to Circle K and when I lived in Oregon would go to 7 Eleven.

I even have a order of preference when on road trips it's Loves, Flying J/Pilot and then Travel America. They've started work on the first Buc-ees in Arizona. I'll check it out sometime but it's not in a area I'm normally in.
