One bid for county building
By Staff Reports
8/2/2005
Only one bid was received Monday to buy Tulsa County's Franklin Plaza Building.
Bacon and Son Inc., a used-office-furniture business, bid $302,500 for the surplus building at 801 E. First St.
The 48,443-square-foot building previously was used for sheriff's offices and court records' storage. The county bought the building in 1989 for $730,000.
Appraisers working for the county put the building's value at $360,000. The county cannot sell the building for less than 80 percent of that appraisal.
The Bacon bid is about 84 percent of the value.
A contract could be awarded in the next week.
