Title: Any way to tell how much a particular business pays in sales tax?
Post by: PonderInc on March 19, 2015, 06:25:04 PM
I'm doing some research on land use and tax revenue.

We're always hearing about how a new development will generate so much new tax revenue, but nobody ever follows up to see if it does or not.

It's easy to find property taxes based on specific parcels of land.  But I want to see how much sales tax is generated by individual businesses at specific addresses.  So far, the closest I can get is a report showing cumulative numbers by city/county in different "categories" of businesses.  But I want to find out how much sales tax particular businesses paid to the City of Tulsa in specific years.

Any hints on where I could find this information?  I assume it's public, but I don't really know.

Oklahoma Tax Commission to start but I believe that by business or location it is considered confidential.
