State High Court Finds Union Law To Be Unconstitutional
07-06-2005 4:58 AM

Oklahoma City, OK) -- The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled a 2004 pro-union law to be unconstitutional. The court found the law discriminates against cities with populations of 35-thousand or more by allowing non-uniformed municipal employees in eleven Oklahoma cities to organize for the purpose of negotiating wages, hours and other terms of employment. The court ruled that the law would have to apply to city employees in all Oklahoma towns, regardless of size. Organized labor call the court decision to be disappointing.<
